For a rapidly growing internationally leading engineering company with almost 5,000 employees and branches in 70 countries, specializing in the fields of energy, transportation, and environment, we are currently looking for a permanent full-time position at the Greater Frankfurt area location.

Head of Gas-to-X Department (m/f/d)

Your duties:

• As the Head of Gas-to-X Department (m/f/d), you will be working in a highly qualified team of engineers and experts in the field of gas-fired power plants and green fuels.
• In this department, our client handles projects with the overarching goal of decarbonization.
• This includes gas turbine power plants, including gas and steam turbines, boiler systems (including exhaust gas cleaning and carbon capture), and all related facilities.
• The team increasingly supports projects aimed at decarbonizing sectors/industries through green hydrogen and its derivative products, such as green ammonia, e-fuels, and e-methanol.
• These services are provided in both international and German-speaking regions.
• Your main activities will include:
• Leading an international, multidisciplinary team of engineers through all project phases and being accountable for the department’s results.
• Being responsible for budgeting during proposal preparation and project execution.
• Engaging in contract negotiations with customers, partners, subcontractors, and general contractors.
• Assessing and developing the team’s capabilities to address current and future market challenges.
• Collaborating closely with various companies within the group, particularly with the team members in Brussels and Paris.
• Advancing the expertise in the field (market trends and technologies) to meet the changing requirements of the energy supply in the international and German-speaking regions.

Your qualifications:

• Degree in engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering, process engineering, and electrical engineering.
• Extensive professional experience in the field of engineering, construction, and commissioning of gas power plants or gas processing plants.
• Experience in leading larger teams with result responsibility.
• Innovative and implementation-oriented personality with experience in change management.
• Willingness to travel on business within the country and abroad.
• Excellent written and spoken English and German language skills.
