Senior IT Security Consultant (m/f/d) – Cologne, Düsseldorf, or North Rhine–Westphalia (NRW)

For a leading provider in the cybersecurity and software consulting space, we are seeking—effective immediately—for a permanent position:

Senior IT Security Consultant (m/f/d) – Cologne, Düsseldorf, or North Rhine–Westphalia (NRW)

Responsibilities:

• Advise and support external clients on all matters of IT and information security
• Conduct security analyses, risk and vulnerability assessments
• Develop and implement security concepts (e.g., in line with ISO 27001, NIS2, BSI IT-Grundschutz)
• Contribute to incident response and security awareness projects
• Present results and recommendations at management level
• Work closely with internal teams

Qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, IT security, cybersecurity, or a comparable qualification
• 2–5 years of professional experience in IT security consulting or a technical security environment
• Good knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, cloud security, or OT security
• Experience with security frameworks and common standards (ISO 27001, NIS2, BSI, CIS Controls, etc.)
• Analytical thinking, structured working style, and strong communication skills
• Excellent German skills (at least C1) and good English skills
• Nice to have:
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, or comparable
• Experience working with German clients
• Familiarity with common security tools or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
• The role is full-time and hybrid, with on-site presence in Cologne/Düsseldorf and remote work within NRW
